2027 DCPP Emergency Planning Calendar Contest Now Open!

Thank you for your interest in the 2027 DCPP Emergency Planning Calendar Photo Contest.  Your submissions help us showcase the scenic beauty of SLO County while also producing a calendar that residents want to keep!  Please see the entry guidelines below.  If you have any questions, please reach out at oes@co.slo.ca.us

PHOTO CONTEST ENTRY GUIDELINES:

1. We welcome two color entries per person as well as one black and white photo. Please submit each separately.

2. Photographs must be an authentic, personally captured photo. (No Artifical Intelligence)

3. Only horizontal scenic photos of San Luis Obispo County will be accepted.

4. Please do not include any portrait or pet photos, or those of recognizable people.

5. Unrealistically enhanced photographs will not be selected.

6. Entrant guarantees that the photo submitted is his/her personal art.

7. All photos submitted must be named with photographer’s first initial and last name (example -w.smith.jpg, e.garcia.tif, m.williams.eps).  

8. To ensure eligibility for the contest, all entries must be photographed using an 8-megapixel camera, or greater, set at the highest resolution (a minimum of 3266 x 2540 pixels or 10.89” x 8.17”)

9. File formats accepted are .PSD, .JPG, .TIF, or .EPS and must be submitted electronically using this entry form.

10. Maximum file size is 50 MB per entry.

11. Deadline for submission is June 28, 2026.

INSTRUCTIONS:

  1. Please fill out all the fields below before adding your photo (“FILE UPLOAD” button below).
  2. Each person may submit one photo per entry and a maximum of three entries total. (2 color, 1 B&W)
  3. Once you’ve completed this form and added your photo, please submit your entry using the “submit” button. 
  4. Please note: The maximum file size per photo is 50MB.

Please note: Contest judging is conducted blind. As we do allow two color entries and one black and white entry per person, this does mean that some photographers have the potential to be featured multiple times.  

Deadline for Photo Submission

The contest will conclude on June 28, 2026.

Photographers will be announced on this site in late October, 2026.

Authorized Use Notice

By submitting the entry form, you agree to the guidelines that have been established for this photo contest. You also warrant that the submission is your own original work and agree that Diablo Canyon Power Plant (DCPP) and the County of San Luis Obispo can use your submission for the purpose of printing the Emergency Planning Calendar or other purposes per the discretion of the sponsoring agency. By submitting the entry form, you waive and release any and all claims and rights against DCPP and the County of San Luis Obispo and you indemnify and hold DCPP and the County of San Luis Obispo harmless from all actions, costs, liabilities, losses or damages arising out of your submission used by the DCPP and the County of San Luis Obispo, including those alleged or asserted by a third party to be unauthorized.
